A mentor can change a life
A single mentor can shift how a young person sees themselves and their future. Research from organisations like OECDand UNESCO shows that access to role models and mentoring significantly improves confidence, aspirations, and persistence in STEM, especially for girls and students from underrepresented backgrounds.
At BrainSTEM, our mentors are not just guides. They are catalysts who help young people see what is possible and believe that they belong.
Join a growing community of impact
Over 2,000 students have already benefited from BrainSTEM’s mentoring programs, supported by a network of 80+ mentors.
This is your invitation to be part of a growing community that is shaping futures and creating meaningful impact in the lives of young people.

Why your role matters
Young people do not lack potential. What they often lack is exposure, context, and connection to the real world.
As a mentor, you help bridge that gap.
- Make STEM careers visible and relatable
- Build confidence in students who may not yet see themselves in these spaces
- Support critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication
- Play a role in improving access for girls in STEM and low-SES students
This is not about having all the answers. It is about showing up, sharing your journey, and helping students ask better questions.
What you gain
Mentors consistently tell us they gain as much as they give.
- A renewed sense of purpose
- The opportunity to develop mentoring and communication skills
- Exposure to fresh perspectives and ideas
- A meaningful way to contribute to equity and access in STEM
Your impact
The conversations you have, the questions you ask, and the encouragement you offer can stay with a student long after the program ends.
For many, you will be the first person who makes STEM feel real, accessible, and within reach.
